      8:17
8 Randy Van Zee 11:16:26   3:06:35 10.55

The time gaps between all riders were large meaning that everyone had
relaxed finishes. The smallest gap was 5:39 between Trevino and Fasching.
The largest gap was 21:27 between Otto and Moonen. Last place Van Zee
finished over 3 days behind winner Robic. Using the old 48 hour rule,
there would have been only 6 official finishers: The first 5 and Moonen
since riders over 50 were given an extra day. Experience counts, as only
3 of the 13 starting rookies finished. Dino Nico Valsesia was the only
veteran to drop out.

The time gaps between the teams were much smaller than those between the
solo riders. 3 gaps were less than a half hour, the smallest of which was only
21 minutes between the 4-person mixed Team Just Sweat - No Tears and the
4-women's Team Vail B2B Devas. The biggest gap was 14:01 between two 4-
person teams: Extra Distance and Grand PAC Masters. The gap between the
winning team (HPV 4-men ALS Lightning) and last place team (2-men New England)
was 3:07:50. Amazingly, this was within 75 minutes of the gap between the first
and last solo finishers. Solo winner Robic's time was faster than the last three
teams (all 2-person). The top 3 teams were more than twice as fast as the slowest
solo rider.
